Since its establishment by the Abu Dhabi Chamber in 2014, the Emirates Franchise Association has played a leading role in empowering and developing the franchise sector in the United Arab Emirates, recognising it as one of the vital sectors and a key driver of economic diversification.

The franchise sector represents an effective mechanism for empowering entrepreneurs and expanding the base of small and medium-sized enterprises, in line with global developments and the evolving requirements of the future economy.

Since its inception, the Association has focused on building an integrated ecosystem that supports the growth of the franchise sector, enhances its readiness, and reinforces its role as a fundamental contributor to the national economy. This has been achieved through close collaboration with strategic partners, alongside the adoption of ambitious initiatives to strengthen the franchising system and support sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.

The Association places particular emphasis on protecting trademarks and raising awareness of the franchise concept, including the rights and obligations of both franchisors and franchisees. It also works to expand the presence of Emirati brands and support their growth locally, regionally, and internationally. In parallel, the Association is committed to embracing innovation, fostering a competitive and forward-looking business environment, expanding strategic partnerships, and promoting franchising as a core investment model that offers high-quality opportunities, meets the aspirations of entrepreneurs, and supports them in achieving their objectives.

Within this framework, the Emirates Franchise Association has developed its future strategy based on five key pillars: representing the franchise sector and advocating for its interests; contributing to legislative development and strengthening principles of governance; building capabilities and promoting franchise culture; expanding communication channels and partnerships with various stakeholders; and promoting the sector through specialised events that highlight investment opportunities and support its growth.

As we move forward, the Emirates Franchise Association reaffirms its commitment to the continued development of this vital sector, enhancing its competitiveness, and reinforcing the UAE’s position as a leading global hub for the franchise industry—aligned with the vision of our wise leadership and contributing to the building of a diversified, innovative, and sustainable national economy.
